The Roundhouse is a friendly, homely environment which prioritises the health and wellbeing of the children in our care.
Initially established in 1999 we have recently re-registered with Ofsted following a change of address and legal status. Prior to this re-registration the nursery was rated as "Outstanding" by Ofsted.
The nursery is now based upstairs in the H Suite, on Icknield Port Road in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The premises has benefitted from a total refurbishment, which has provided us with a clean and fresh environment for the children.
We have a team of committed and professional staff, who have been chosen for their caring natures, as much as for their breadth of qualifications and experience in the sector.
The nursery has an ongoing development and improvement programme in order to both maintain and raise quality at the setting. This includes self assessment, strong parent partnerships and close liaison with outside agencies such as the Early Years Development Team. We have also taken part in improvement programmes such as Effective Early Learning and Baby Effective Early Learning Programmes and Startwell.
Children are provided with a wide range of carefully planned play / learning activities, which in turn cater for each individual child's needs. They are all given the opportunity to progress at their own rate. Staff, have high expectations of the children and encourage them to achieve. They observe and assess all of the children in their care and complete detailed development files, which are shared with parents on a regular basis. Activities are carefully constructed and are based around the children’s natural interests to support their learning and development.
All nursery activities are based around the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage 2017) areas of learning and development – these include:
7:45 a.m. - 18:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
Open 51 weeks of the year (except Bank and public holidays and occasional staff training days)
Rated as 'Outstanding' in our last OFSTED report. Prior to re-registration in January 2018
